frequently asked questions

tips

food recommendations

A full tummy helps keep babies and children happy during their photo shoot, but please be careful of what foods they eat before their session. Carrots and sweet potatoes can sometimes leave an orange tint on baby’s skin. This tint may not always be noticeable to the human eye, but the camera’s lens can pick up on subtle skin discolorations. Other foods such as spaghetti, lollipops and candy may also color the skin.

fashion

Layering and texture is encouraged. This can give us variety during the photo session. Accessories are cute and encouraged, please consider that these items should complement and not dominate your child in the photo.

I recommend avoiding all white or all black ensembles, this can alter skin tones in an undesirable way. Many parents prefer to avoid large logos on clothing since it can be distracting in the images. I also recommend your child being as comfortable as possible in their outfits.

suggestions

say cheese?

When a child is asked to “say cheese” he/she may not give a natural smile and this will be apparent in the images. I will engage with your child and you will soon see the natural expressions you know and love.

feeling under the weather?

If your child is sick or feeling under the weather, kindly call me to reschedule. I’m a mother myself and understand that sometimes children get sick. I want your child to enjoy the photo session. Thank you for your consideration.

artistic direction

For the best possible images and session experience I will guide and direct your child. This is a great opportunity for the parent to enjoy and observe the photo session. I do the work for you.
